Check safety and brake precisely while backing up ！.

The following is a notice from the Ichihara Police Department.
At around 8:54 a.m. on October 19, a light truck driven by an elderly person （ in his 70s ） was backing up and hit an elderly person （ in his 70s ） who was guiding him behind the light truck. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but possible causes include failure to check safety while backing up and improper operation of the brake and gas pedal pedals.

For those who drive a car,
・ pay special attention to driving safely while driving a car
・ check carefully for crossing pedestrians and bicycles
・ avoid distracted driving due to habituation
brake ・ operate the gas pedal properly
and be careful when driving.

Also, pedestrians
"Cars do not stop immediately. They may not even notice."
When walking in front of or behind a car, check the car's movement and left/right and front/rear carefully.
