There has been a sharp increase in thefts targeting vacant houses in Ichihara City.
Perpetrators are breaking in by prying open storm doors and breaking windowpanes.

Security measures for vacant houses
○ Keep garden trees low and mow grass to improve visibility from outside
○ Use security equipment such as security cameras and sensor lights
○ Always lock windows, etc. and install auxiliary locks or change window glass to one that is difficult to break
○ Visit vacant houses regularly and ask neighbors to report suspicious persons when they see them
○ Do not leave cash or valuables in vacant houses
