December 3-9 is Disability Week

Disabled Persons Week" was established to replace the previous "Day for Persons with Disabilities" （ December 9 ） with the aim of deepening public interest in and understanding of the welfare of persons with disabilities and motivating them to actively participate in social, economic, cultural and all other fields of activity, in accordance with the revision of the Basic Law for Persons with Disabilities in June 2004. December 9 was established to replace
the previous Disabled Persons' Day.
The duration of "Disability Week" is one week each year, from December 3 to December 9. During this period, the national government, local governments, and related organizations develop various initiatives to raise awareness.
In Ichihara City, we will also engage in the Disabled Persons Week awareness program to deepen understanding of people with disabilities, aiming to become a city where everyone can support each other as a member of the community, without being separated by disabilities, and play an active and lively role in their own way.

The following projects will be held at the Central Library until December 26th (木). Please drop by ！
・ Creation of a book list on the theme of "A town where 'I want to work' can come true: Creating a workplace where people with disabilities can work easily"
・ Installation of a select book corner featuring books featured on the book list
