On view through December 24 （ Sun ） ！ Special Exhibition "Ichihara no Oyakushi-sama

In commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the city, the first special exhibition since the opening of the Ichihara History Museum, "Yakushi-sama of Ichihara － Epidemic Diseases and Prayers of the People －" is being held.

This special exhibition features the oldest Hakuho Buddhist statue in the prefecture, Sakae-cho Ryukakuji Temple's "Seated Copper Figure of Yakushi Nyorai (Medicine Buddha) （, a nationally designated Important Cultural Property ）," as well as wooden Yakushi Nyorai statues from the late Heian period, Nikko ・ Gekko Bosatsu, and Twelve Divine Generals remaining in the city, in hopes of ending the new type of corona virus, The 43 statues, including those designated as cultural assets by the prefecture and city, are all in one place.

Many of the city's valuable historical heritages that have never been shown to the public before are introduced, and the history of how our ancestors dealt with epidemic diseases and the shape of their prayers are conveyed in an easy-to-understand manner through a variety of experiences.
